Optional password protection will start to ship shortly. Thanks for the suggestion!
No, currently no password protection for Sony Quick Web Access.
@Brian: The files should be on the HDD, but may be "hidden" and not come up in Windows search. Sorry that I cannot help you here until the password feature is introduced by Sony as an update.
@Brian: Let me point you to this thread: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?p=5592524
There is a post there for how to disable web access. Please note that it is not an officially supported method, so do it at your own risk.
@Brian I do not think there is a way to disable it in the BIOS on Sony. Not sure why you would want to, especially since it has its own dedicated "Web" key.
@Brian, whether and when it will be available for existing machines will depend on each OEM, so can't give you the exact details quite yet...
Do you mean games you installed in Windows?
Or do you want to be able to install games within Splashtop?
Could you provide more details to explain this further?
This feature does exist on most systems, although has been removed on some for various reasons.
To auto-hide the taskbar, go to the Configuration Panel, then Launchbar Settings, and select auto-hide. In the browser, you may also want to hit F11 for full screen mode.
If your system does not support these, please let us know what PC you are using.
It is possible to create bookmark folders, and to export bookmarks (at least on the ASUS and Lenovo versions, which I just checked for this). In the browser, go to the Bookmarks > Organize Bookmarks menu. There, select the "Bookmarks Menu" on the left hand side, and you can add folders either by right clicking, or by clicking on the "Organize" button on top. There is an "Import and Backup" button there as well.
Thanks, Jason. We've now made a few improvements in handling connections to hidden networks. Realistically, it will probably take about a month+ for the update incorporating these changes to be released, but just wanted to let you know that they are on the way.
Working on it now. Could you let us know which PC you use (if you can look up Splashtop version, that would be great too)? If you know the type of WiFi network you have (WEP / WPA / WPA2, etc), please provide it as well. Thanks!
We will look into that. For now, since Splashtop is only distributed with new PCs by their manufacturers, you can get the latest image from your PC maker's support web site. For example:
Here is the one for Lenovo ("QuickStart"):
For ASUS ("Express Gate"), go to http://support.asus.com/download and look for your product model number.
Could you explain further what you mean by "programs like Yahoo and MSN?"
We created separate threads for DVD and video playback. Will keep this one for the "provide more themes" request that started it.
